Laughter and cheers echoed through the halls of A.C. Reynolds High School as Kelly Kanelos’ early childhood education students welcomed Jessica Moody’s kindergarten class from Haw Creek Elementary for a Fall Fest packed with colorful, kid-friendly games.

The high schoolers spent weeks researching activities that would be developmentally appropriate and easy for younger children to enjoy. Then they designed and built their own creations– from bowling and skee ball to mini golf, ring toss, matching games, and even a special puppet theater.

The kindergarteners’ faces instantly lit up as they explored each station. Meanwhile, the high school students proudly demonstrated their games, helped the younger visitors play, and celebrated every victory with high-fives and encouragement.

Beyond the fun, the event helped the high schoolers strengthen their communication skills, creativity, and leadership– while the kindergarteners enjoyed hands-on learning and the joy of connecting with older peers.
