You've found the right place. During this uncertain time, many students and their families require assistance, and that's what our Buncombe County Schools Family Resource Center is all about. Through community volunteers, generous item donations, and financial support, we can make a difference together.
To schedule an in kind or toiletry item drop-off, or to volunteer, please call 828-779-4549 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Our center is currently located at Enka Middle School, 390 Asbury Road, Candler, NC 28715.
Financial support will be used to assist Buncombe County students and their families. Please make checks out to "Buncombe County Schools'' with Family Resource Center" in the memo/comment area. Checks may be delivered to our Family Resource Center or mailed to Buncombe County Schools, Attention: Tina Thorpe, 175 Bingham Rd., Asheville, North Carolina, 28806.

"I need help (or know someone who does)."
Do you know a student whose family is unable to get to our meal sites due to lack of transportation or financial burden? Do you need extra help with food boxes, school supplies, hygiene supplies, diapers, wipes, laundry detergent, home goods or clothing due to financial hardship? Please call 828-779-4549 or your School Social Worker at your school to ask for assistance, between the hours of 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
High Priority Items
GENTLY USED or NEW- clothing, shoes and jackets. We accept men's, women's, teen boy's, teen girl's and kid's clothing of all sizes.
GENTLY USED or NEW-household items. We accept microwaves, coffee pots, sets of dishes, toasters, glasses, comforters, sheets, pillowcases, small dressers, full- and twin-size bed frames, nightstands, mixers, blenders, pots and pans
NEW ONLY- underwear and socks in men's, women's, teen boy's, teen girl's and all kids' sizes.
NEW ONLY- blankets, silverware and umbrellas.
Any of the above items are accepted gently used or new. Please remember to donate only those items which you would use yourself. Please contact 828-779-4549 to schedule a donation drop off.
