The Teen Health Career Day is designed for students who have an interest in pursuing a health career. Students who participate in this program will have the opportunity to learn about a variety of healthcare fields, spend time in our state-of-the-art simulation center, hear directly from healthcare providers about their specialties and experiences, enjoy hands-on activities, and much more!
I have designed a simple application for students to complete in order to participate as space is limited…. (we can only accommodate up to 30 students!) We will also schedule interviews for applicants to choose who will be able to attend. I would appreciate any volunteers who may be able to assist with interviewing students. This program is designed for students who are outside of the qualifications of students who are able to apply for the MMMP internship. I realize that internship has certain criteria that discourages other students from applying, so this Teen Health Career Day is another way we can expose students to health careers and allow them to enter the pathway to healthcare success! 😊
Here is the criteria to apply:
Students must attend a middle or high school in Buncombe or Henderson County.
Students must be at least 13 years of age
Students must have transportation (drop off and pick up) **Cars cannot be parked on the MAHEC campus during the program**
Students must complete the online application on or before June 2nd
Students must submit a parent permission form along with their application
Each participant of this career day will receive a certificate of participation and will have access to future programs offered by MAHEC’s Department of Health Careers and Diversity Education.
