Coach Mark Harris accepting his award

Cross country and wrestling coach for Enka High School, Mark Harris, has been bestowed the prestigious Toby Webb Outstanding Coach Award at this year’s North Carolina High School Athletics Association Celebration. This award is given to one male and one female coach from across the state, and comes with a $2,000 stipend.

“Mark has been an outstanding wrestling coach throughout his 23 year career,” said David Ball, Buncombe County School’s (BCS) Athletics Director. “Mark’s passion for and service to High School athletics characterizes his career. His passion has been to find opportunities to promote high school athletics, particularly wrestling, at his school, in his community, across the state of North Carolina, and nationally.”

Mark Harris has been a coach at Enka for 20 years. His teams have won several tournaments over the years, and coach Harris has been on many boards and committees for North Carolina wrestling throughout his career. Congratulations to Coach Mark Harris for this achievement and recognition.
