At A.C. Reynolds High School, Principal Ben Alexander believes that building relationships is just as important as building academic success. Whether he’s walking the hallways, visiting classrooms, or chatting with students and staff, Mr. Alexander makes it a priority to connect with the people who make Big Green Country special.

When Mr. Alexander was in high school, one of his favorite courses was Latin, which led him to become a high school Latin teacher and later a principal. After 17 years, his love for learning continues to shape the way he leads, inspiring students to discover their own passions and reach their full potential.
On any given day, Mr. Alexander can be found interacting with students, offering encouragement, and lending a helping hand wherever it is needed. His dedication extends beyond academics, as he works to create a welcoming environment where every student and staff member feels valued, supported, and motivated to succeed.
“Mr. Alexander is so inclusive with everyone,” said senior Abby. “He is a big part of everyone’s life.”
“Mr. Alexander is great,” said sophomore Levi. “He is the coolest principal I’ve ever had!”

For Mr. Alexander, being a principal is about more than seeing the daily operations of a school. It’s about making a lasting impact, and it’s those meaningful moments and connections that make his role so rewarding.
“My favorite part of being a principal is being at Reynolds High School and getting to be a small part of our teenagers' lives during some of the most important years of their lives,” he said. “I believe every teenager deserves to have adults in their lives who love them, believe in them, and show up for them, even on their hardest days. I hope every single Rocket knows just how incredibly proud I am of them; both for what they accomplish and for who they are and are becoming.”
As Buncombe County Schools celebrates National School Principals Month, we want to thank all our amazing administrators for always reaching new heights.
