A.C. Reynolds Middle School (ACRMS) Media Center Coordinator Alicia Luke has been named the Buncombe County Schools Media Center Coordinator of the Year, an honor recognizing her dedication to fostering a love of reading, learning and innovation among students.
Luke’s passion for education extends far beyond the shelves of the media center. She has created a welcoming environment where students are encouraged to explore new ideas, discover the joy of reading and develop the skills needed to be lifelong learners. Through engaging lessons, creative programming and meaningful collaboration with teachers, Luke has transformed the media center into a vibrant hub of learning for the entire school community.
Whether helping students find the perfect book, introducing new technology, or supporting classroom instruction, Luke consistently goes above and beyond to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed. Her commitment to building relationships and inspiring curiosity has made a lasting impact on students, staff, and families alike.
“Ms. Luke embodies what it means to be an exceptional educator,” said ACRMS Principal Lindsay Rice. “She created meaningful learning experiences, champions literacy and empowers students to think critically and creatively. We are incredibly proud to see her recognized with this well deserved honor.”
