Students at Hominy Valley Elementary got a lesson in Appalachian culture and tradition when the Bailey Mountain Cloggers visited the school for a special performance this year.

The award-winning dance team from Mars Hill University entertained students with high-energy routines that showcased the rich history of mountain clogging. Throughout the performance, dancers shared information about the origins of clogging and its importance in Western North Carolina's cultural heritage.

Students also had the opportunity to get on their feet and learn a few clogging steps from the performers, turning the assembly into an interactive celebration of Appalachian traditions.
