“All aboard!” rang out once again as Woodfin Elementary School students climbed aboard the Craggy Mountain Railroad for their annual Jingle Bell Trolley excursion. This is a beloved December tradition filled with holiday magic and community spirit.

Each year, students and teachers take part in the special experience as the railroad crew puts on the Jingle Bell Trolley. The train travels a short distance down the line, but the journey is packed with excitement, laughter, and wide-eyed wonder. When the train returns to the station, the magic continues as students are greeted by Santa and Mrs. Claus and enjoy a warm cup of hot chocolate together.

This year’s adventure included an extra surprise. Thanks to the generosity of The Lift Church of Tennessee/Joseph's Storehouse, every student received a brand-new toy to take home, adding an extra layer of joy to an already unforgettable day.

For Woodfin Elementary this is a cherished tradition, and one that Principal Miranda Wheeler holds dear to her.
“For many children, this event offers a rare opportunity to experience something entirely new - sparking excitement, joy, and a sense of wonder that extends far beyond the school day,” she said. “This tradition embodies Woodfin Elementary’s commitment to fostering community partnerships, creating inclusive experiences, and ensuring that every child feels valued, supported, and celebrated.”

The Jingle Bell Trolly experience is made possible through the support of the Woodfin community. This special experience continues to bring joy, wonder, and a little holiday magic to students year after year.
