Barnardsville Elementary School continued its proud tradition of honoring local heroes during its annual Veterans Day program. The heartfelt event brought together students, staff, and community members to celebrate the courage and sacrifice of those who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

Students took center stage, sharing what Veterans Day means to them and performing a moving song dedicated to the men and women who protect our country. Their words filled the gym with gratitude and pride.

Adding to the solemn ceremony, the Clyde A. Erwin High School JROTC presented a dignified flag folding ceremony. They then presented the folded flag to one of the veterans in attendance - a moment met with quiet respect and emotion from the crowd.

After the program, students eagerly lined up to shake hands, offer hugs, and personally thank the veterans for their service. Smiles, tears, and heartfelt exchange filled the room, showcasing the bond between generations united by respect and appreciation.
