West Buncombe Elementary will now get to share its success story with educators from across the nation. On Oct. 8, the school was selected by the National Elementary and Secondary Education Act Distinguished Schools Program (NAESPA) to represent North Carolina at the NAESPA National Conference in February.
As we shared last month, NAESPA named West Buncombe as a Top 10 Title I School in the state for its excellence in serving special student populations. the program recognizes schools that receive federal funding for positive educational advances and outstanding student achievement.
Principal Brad Johnson, BCS Superintendent Dr. Rob Jackson, and school system federal programs director Jeanann Yates attended a special ceremony in Greensboro where it was announced the Eagles had been chosen to represent the state.
