Three BCS athletics programs and superintendent Dr. Rob Jackson have been honored by the North Carolina High School Athletics Association (NCHSAA).

Mr. Allison is holding a silver trophy, the "Wells Fargo Cup".Owen High School earned the Wells Fargo Cup for overall athletic excellence in the Western Highlands Conference. T.C. Roberson earned the same distinction for the Mountain Athletic Conference. For the second year in a row, Erwin High School was honored for having no ejections during a school year. Dr. Jackson received a “Special Person Award” from the association for his efforts to support student athletes and the NCHSAA’s mission.

Ms. Plemmons is holding a certificate.“Dr. Jackson’s leadership, character, commitment to education, and support of the mission and vision of the NCHSAA simply put is remarkable, and he has never wavered on his belief of theimportance of education-based athletics,” said Rhonda Dreibelbis, the association’s assistant commissioner. “We again saw his strength and fearless determination in taking care of all of his Buncombe County Schools in the recovery effects and reopening of schools in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.”
