The event kicked off in a powerful way as Superintendent Dr. Rob Jackson ran alongside officers from the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office and the Asheville Police Department. Starting from Chick-Fil-A on Hendersonville Road, they carried the torch all the way to the Rams stadium, marking the beginning of the opening ceremony.

Participants enjoyed a wide range of activities - from games and races to a fun petting zoo provided by North Buncombe High’s FFA program. Students had the chance to meet and interact with animals, adding a special touch to an already joyful event.

Reynolds High School, where students from the Reynolds, Enka, and Owen districts will join athletes from Asheville City Schools and homeschool students for another fun-filled celebration of inclusion, joy, and community.
