👟💥 A friendly competition brought fun and excitement to North Buncombe Middle School (NBMS) as students took on their teachers in their fourth annual end of year kickball game.

After a student tournament narrowed eight teams down to one, the kids took to the field on June 6 for the final challenge. Though the staff team ultimately held on 5-4, the students showed up with high spirits and lots of speed. The whole tournament serves as a fundraiser for the NBMS Student Council. Students paid to create their teams, and members of the council operated a concession stand during the championship game to raise more funds for their upcoming activities.

"Our student-staff kickball game was more than just a fun way to end the year- it was a celebration of community, connection, and the kind of joyful memories that remind us why school is about more than just the classroom," said NBMS Principal Nicholas Honeycutt.
