Students at Candler Elementary School celebrated National School Breakfast Week in royal fashion as their cafeteria was transformed into a castle for a themed morning meal.

Following this year’s theme, “The Quest for Breakfast,” students arrived dressed as princes and princesses, adding to the festive atmosphere as they made their way through the decorated cafeteria. Chandeliers, banners and other castle-inspired décor created a magical setting for a breakfast many described as “fit for a king.”

The event highlighted the importance of starting the day with a nutritious meal while making breakfast a fun and memorable experience for students.

Special guests joined the celebration, including Board of Education member Judy Lewis. Also attending were BCS Child Nutrition Director Katy Wyatt and BCS Child Nutrition supervisors Chad Warren and Kim Buckner.

School leaders say events like this help build excitement around school meals and encourage students to participate in the breakfast program while fostering a sense of community and fun.

Thank you to the BCS Child Nutrition Teammates who helped bring the celebration to life. Their efforts each day ensure students have access to the fuel they need to learn and succeed — because the most important school supply is food.
