🐐🔬 Cross-curricular learning in action at OHS!

OHS students got a unique cross-curricular learning opportunity this week when Dr. Wilfong’s health science students brought the program’s new ultrasound machine to Mr. Nester’s animal science classroom to perform an ultrasound on Coco, his pregnant goat.

Coco, a 1.5-year-old Boer/Nigerian Dwarf goat born right here at OHS, gave students an opportunity to combine healthcare technology skills with agricultural science in a real-world setting. Based on the ultrasound, it looks like Coco is expecting twins!

With goats having a five-month gestation period, her kids are expected to arrive sometime in the middle of next month. OHS students and staff (and proud papa goat Leroy) are excitedly awaiting the newest additions to the school farm while celebrating this hands-on collaboration between two programs. 🐐
