Thanks to our curriculum coach, Rebecca Johnson, as she launched our fall staff professional development focus. Teachers will be visiting and learning from one another’s classrooms. We can’t wait to see all the great things taking place at BCEC/BCCI!

Students in Mr. Callaway’s American history class investigate a series of primary sources documents and attempt to place them on a timeline in chronological order. The activity is designed to help them understand the events leading up to the Civil War.

We hope our families enjoy Fall Break Monday 10/13/25 through Tuesday 10/14/25.

How do artists use images, lines, colors, shapes, and other techniques to tell a story about themselves and our world? BCEC Year 2 students in Ms. Meadows's English classes explored this question during their field trip to the Asheville Art Museum. After studying narrative writing and author's craft in class, they participated in a guided tour and created a self-portrait to learn about the connections between art and literature.

Interest groups are in full swing! Ms. Wiesner's lego group is loving our flex space to build their creations.

Thanks to Ms ODonnell and Ms Fulmer for hosting college info sessions for our students. Today students had the opportunity to learn more about UNC Chapel Hill and ask questions to the UNC representative who was on BCEC campus today.

It's October, which means its Pumpkin time, Eblen Pumpkins 🎃to be exact! BCEC and BCCI are raising money for Eblen charities throughout the whole month. Talk to your CORE teacher about how to buy one and for details about prizes, including a gift card and a pizza party for your CORE!

Spanish 1 students review vocabulary by completing a puzzle. In order to solve, they match the definitions to form a rectangle.
