The Testing Staff of Buncombe County Schools is here to assist each school during each test given by the State of North Carolina. They handle all materials issued by the State and distribute them to the schools, one could say they are the middle man between the State and the school system. They also handle all policies and procedures issued by the State for giving each test and making sure all state rules and guidelines for testing are enforced. The staff is available to answering any questions or concerns with testing and the testing process.

"Having lived many years in the hot and humid climate of Florida, the mountains drew my family here on vacation and from that stay we move to Asheville. I had no idea then that when I accepted the position in the Testing Department of Buncombe County Schools that I would be enjoying the changes twenty years later. How many folks can say that about their position. Having witnessed the number of schools increase, school grade level changes, changes in the number and type of tests given, and each year more state tests being available online. One thing has remained a constant over the years and that would be working with the fantastic people from our forty-four schools. "

Buncombe County Schools is in the process of reviewing its website to ensure compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
