BCS Foundation Awards 300K in Scholarships

Many thanks to the Buncombe County Schools Foundation, which has awarded over $300,000 in scholarships to more than 170 graduating seniors this year.

Scholarships are a substantial part of BCSF’s mission to support students and teachers at Buncombe County Schools. The organization helps students and teachers in many other ways, including classroom grants and support of initiatives such as The Leader in Me, the Bookmobile to address summer reading loss, and the Rolling to Feed bus to help feed our students throughout the summer.

“We are so proud to play a role in helping our students achieve their goal of obtaining a college education,” said BCSF Executive Director Lisa Adkins. “Our mission is to address needs for our students in our schools through providing funds currently not available through other channels. It is because of the enormous support from the community that we are able to address those needs.”
