Records Requests - Public Office Hours
Monday - Friday: 7:30 am - 4:30 pm

Requests may take between 5 and 10 business days to process prior to mailing or pick up. Please plan accordingly and complete your request in advance of the date needed. Requests will not be processed via phone call and records are not completed same day due to the volume of requests we receive.
We only accept cash or check in our office for payment.
Online submissions are generally processed quicker and also have email/phone call notification features for progress updates.
The official transcript includes the following information, if available:
- graduation date
- final transcript (grades and attendance for high school)
- immunization records
The complete school record includes the following information, if available:
- attendance for all years in Buncombe County Schools
- grades for all years in Buncombe County Schools
- driver's eligibility certificate
The graduation verification includes the following information:
- name of Buncombe County High School
The immunization record includes all immunization shots documented in the school record.
Diploma copies are not available. There is only one copy of the diploma and it is given to the student at graduation.

Former Students/Colleges or Universities
Records for Buncombe County Schools students are stored at the high school in the district the student attended until 2 years after possible graduation. At that time they are maintained permanently by Student Services.

- Normal Shipping or pick up: $15.00 (includes shipping cost)
- International Mailing: Cost of records plus an additional charge of $10.00
- Express Mailing: Additional charge of approximately $25.00 Processed and mailed same day if received before 2:00 pm.
- Immediate Service Pickup: Cost of records plus an additional charge of $25.00

Mail in Requests
Mail in requests take considerably longer due to the time it takes to reach our department. Online requests are much more convenient for the requester. If you are unable to request a record online, please download the paper request below.
