A special presentation made Veterans Day personal at the Nesbitt Discovery Academy.BCS Communications

Students and educators at the Martin L. Nesbitt, Jr. Discovery Academy made their celebration of Veterans Day personal this year. They collected photos of their family members who have served and created a video presentation that they watched together Wednesday in the school's cafeteria. It was a wonderful way to honor those who have served our country. It also served as a reminder that veterans and their many sacrifices have deeply touched all of our lives.

"Veterans Day is a time for all Americans to express appreciation and gratitude to our military men and women, past and present," said Nesbitt Principal Heather Brookshire. "They sacrifice daily for others to have a better life, and it is my desire for our students at NDA to have a reverence and understanding of what that truly means."

Brookshire explained that her own uncle, Lt. Gregg Worley, was a Vietnam War veteran who was killed in action.

"He sacrificed his life for our country which has instilled in me an unwavering respect for our military and the work they do in the worst of times," she said.
