The North Carolina School Public Relations Association (NCSPRA) has honored Buncombe County Schools for excellence in communications. BCS earned six Blue Ribbon Awards for outstanding and effective communication. NCSPRA recently presented the awards during a virtual ceremony.
The BCS Communications Team received four Gold and two Silver level awards for outstanding digital media engagement, electronic media, graphic design, and excellence in writing. The judges praised the entries for their high quality, professionalism, and effectiveness in communicating promotional messages. Stacia Harris is the Director of Communications, Ben Rickert is the Assistant Director, and Tim Reaves is the Digital Marketing specialist. Each team member brings a unique skill set to each project and promotional effort.
“I am so proud of our communications team,” said Superintendent Dr. Tony Baldwin. “This small team of three does an outstanding job of highlighting our students, staff, and school programs. We know how important it is to share these stories with our community. This team consistently produces top-notch content that informs and inspires.”
NCSPRA recognizes outstanding communications through its Blue Ribbon Awards program each year. BCS was one of 41 school districts statewide to receive a Blue Ribbon Award. This year’s submission categories included: Marketing, DigitalMedia Engagement, Electronic Media, Excellence in Writing, Publications, Image/Graphic Design, Photography, and Special Projects and Events. The Georgia School Public Relations Association judged NCSPRA’s 2020 Blue Ribbon entries.
