This Veterans Day, the Clyde A. Erwin High School ‘Warrior Battalion’ leads us in the Pledge of Allegiance to honor all who have served, under the leadership of JROTC Senior Army Instructor and CW3 (Retired) Tony “Chief” Gutierrez.

For junior cadet Tori Brice, Veterans Day is “a day we honor the sacrifices, the victories, and the lost from those who fought for our freedom and rights, and those who worked hard to ensure their children lived a better future.”

Brice’s sister currently serves in the Navy, her father served in the Navy, and both of her parents work at the area veterans hospital. At Erwin, Brice serves as the Battalion S1 (Personnel Officer in Charge).

“[It is] a day we appreciate and respect the history that our veterans have gone through for this country,” she said.

The following video debuted at the Nov. 5 Board of Education regular meeting.
