Schools become better when the unique voices of our students are heard.
Student leaders from across the county gathered on Nov. 7 to provide their perspectives through this year’s Buncombe County Student Advisory Board. Organized by BCS Assistant Superintendent Joseph Hough, the board provided another avenue for students to collaborate with administrators, offer advice, ask questions, and further understand the aims of our local schools.
“The Student Advisory Board offers advice on student concerns to the Superintendent from the perspective of the students throughout the county,” Hough explained.
According to Mr. Hough, students discussed and provided important input on district goals, student performance, safety and security, graduation rates, and other current issues.
Buncombe County Schools is grateful for the time these students invested (and continue to invest) in our local public schools.
