Experienced educators and rising stars felt the excitement of a Buncombe County Schools teaching career during the North Carolina Mountains Teacher Job Fair on Friday.
Principals from across the district spoke one-on-one with potential applicants about the benefits of teaching here, including competitive salary and benefits, a generous local salary supplement, supportive professional development programs, and housing opportunities at the Williams-Baldwin Teacher Campus.
“The N.C. Mountains Teacher Job Fair is a great opportunity for Buncombe County administrators to meet educators who want to begin their careers in this area or who are wanting to relocate here,” said BCS Human Resources Director Cynthia Lopez. “Every year we have great success in filling our open positions by attending this job fair. I am really grateful to the Western Region Education Service Alliance (
WRESA) for hosting the job fair and to our school administrators and directors who are able to attend.”
Nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, BCS is the largest school system in Western North Carolina and 13th largest in the state. At the heart of our schools is the teacher-student connection. Our teachers and staff, of the highest quality, work to help young learners reach their full potential in a safe and engaging environment.
