3,000 BCS students enjoyed a day of March Madness at the U.S. Cellular Center.BCS Communications

On March 7, the Charles T. Koontz Intermediate School Rockin' Rams chorus stepped out in front of more than 3,000 students, teachers, basketball players, and performers to sing our national anthem at the U.S. Cellular Center led by music director Ms. Christy Woppman. Many schools attended as a reward for positive behavior and decision-making, as well as for the opportunity to perform for peers and the community.

Thursday's presentation of colors were performed by T.C. Roberson High School's Air Force JROTC. Later the same day, North Buncombe Elementary's Bouncing Blackhawks jump rope team wow'd the crowd between periods.

An additional bit of fun on this day was the surprise announcement of Ms. Sara Moore of Pisgah Elementary as the Mix 96.5 Teacher of the Month! Radio Personalities Tammy and Kipper marched Ms. Moore out to center court and made the surprise announcement as the crowd wildly applauded!

On Friday, students participated in the festivities for both morning and evening games. In the morning, T.C. Roberson High's Harmaniacs quartet sang the anthem while Army JROTC cadets from Clyde A. Erwin High School performed the presentation of colors. That, a quartet from Fairview Elementary sang the national anthem and the school's Fairview Flyers unicycle team also performed during half-time. Charles D. Owen High's Army JROTC cadets performed the evening's presentation of colors.

On Saturday morning, the cadets of A.C. Reynolds High School's Army JROTC performed the presentation of colors while Charles D. Owen High School's Highland Brass performed the anthem.

Finally, on Sunday, student Zion Morgan of T.C. Roberson high and chorus teacher Ms. Christy Woppman of Charles T. Koontz intermediate sang the anthem.
