The academic talents of fourth, fifth, and sixth grade "mathletes" were on display at the 2018 Elevating Mathematics Tournament. The program gave students additional opportunities for problem solving, critical thinking, and teamwork- skills that are critical for people in all professions and walks of life.

In the preliminary rounds held at schools between January and March, students completed individual problem sets to earn a seat at the March 26 capstone competition hosted by our BCS Central Office. There, students completed a 10 question “sprint” individual assessment in 30 minutes, an eight question “target” round involving two questions every six minutes, and finally a “team” round requiring groups of four students to solve 10 math puzzles in 20 minutes. Winners were determined at each grade level. We are proud of all of our students who worked hard to put their math skills to the test!
