Williams-Baldwin Teacher Campus Update
Posted on 03/09/2017

Progress continues on the Williams-Baldwin Teacher Campus located near Eblen Intermediate School. This 24- unit apartment complex will house Buncombe County and Asheville City School teachers. There is still availability to move in this Spring when the apartments are complete. They are open to licensed teachers- 18 from Buncombe County and 6 from Asheville City Schools.

“Many current teachers have expressed interest in these new apartments. This has also been a key recruiting tool for us as we travel the state looking for talented educators to hire in Buncombe County Schools,” says Cynthia Lopez, BCS HR Director.

BCS School Board members recently toured a nearly complete apartment, and on March 10, potential residents will enjoy a casual open house to see the progress so far!

The apartments have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are 1,100 square feet. Rent will be around $900/ month! This innovative project is made possible through a partnership with both school systems, Eblen Charities Center for Social Enterprise, the State Employee’s Credit Union and Buncombe County.

For more information, current BCS teachers may contact Tiffany McCants, at 828-255-5921. Asheville City Schools teachers may call Mark Dickerson at 828-350-6137.
