2017 Mid-Year Graduation
2017 Mid-Year Graduation
Posted on 02/05/2017
Congratulations to the first round of our 2017 Graduates! On Saturday, February 4, 2017, about 155 grads from all of our high schools crossed the stage at Thomas Wolfe Auditorium!

Many of the students were part of the BCS Graduation Initiative. These dedicated students overcame barriers to get their diploma in hand.

Kaye Lamb, Director of the Graduation Initiative says, “One size does not fit all and being able to look at each student's situation individually allows us to design a pathway to graduation that works best for that particular student and their family. Our partnership with the Eblen Charities allows us the opportunity to help students and families lessen some of their challenges, thereby allowing them to refocus on graduating.”

Some students had a clear plan for post-graduation, such as going to college early, and they were able to benefit from earning an accelerated high school degree. No matter the situation students faced, the small Graduation Initiative team of 4 graduation specialists have the flexibility to work with students individually and honor their circumstances and dreams for their future.

“Seeing students successfully earn their diploma, with a smile on their face, exchanging high fives and hugs, is an awesome feeling for us,” says Lamb.”

Congratulations, graduates!2017
