Posted on 10/20/2016
On September 21 of 2016, Buncombe County Schools proudly recognized the Teachers of the Year for all schools and districts, with special guests Tammy and Dex of Asheville's Mix 96.5 serving as Mistress and Master of Ceremony. The 2016 BCS Teacher of the Year, Brian Gonzales, passed the baton to the 2017 BCS Teacher of the Year, Cathy Belair of Valley Springs Middle School. Congratulations, teachers!

Buncombe County Schools is very proud of all of our accomplished educators. We hope you also enjoy these short profiles of our six district winners.

All six of the above video profiles were combined into a feature video presentation, which was shown during the awards event. We hope you enjoy this special production created in honor of our outstanding teachers, who continually go above and beyond for the benefit of students.
