School is out!... And it is that time again…
Time for Summer Meals!
-Being out of school means fun in the sun! For many families, but to others, this could be a time of worry, and questioning, how will I feed my children?
The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is a USDA federally funded, state administered program that allows schools and other sponsors to serve free meals to children while school is not in session.
Buncombe County School (BCS) Nutrition, NEVER misses an opportunity to be a part of the Summer Meal Program, to provide free meals to the 18 and under, public.
BCS Nutrition has partnered with camps, schools, churches, community centers, daycares, etc. to bring delicious, nutritious meals to our kids, beginning June 13th, 2022. These partnerships allow for a safe, and supervised environment for children to fuel up, and have fun!
Director of Buncombe County School Nutrition, Elizabeth Payne, and Assistant Director Mary Hackney agree, “Here at BCS we believe that no child should ever have to wonder where their next meal is coming from, we are here for you!”
