Leicester Elementary earns a gold medal for creativity. Their gym teacher, Tammy Gregg, helped students celebrate the 2022 Winter Olympics with a themed gym day! Students participated in a variety of activities inspired by popular winter olympic sports. Unlike Beijing, Leicester was snow free - so they had to improvise with towels and wheels to simulate gliding over snow, plungers as ski poles, and bouncing balls for the biathlon. Kids hopped from one activity to the next on this fun-filled day. Not only did they get plenty of exercise; they also honed their math skills by keeping score of each activity.
