A local venue known for great music and a giving spirit is once again helping BCS meet the needs of our community.
The Barn at Paint Fork, located in Barnardsville, donated $4,000 to the BCS Family Resource Center (FRC) as part of a total $26,000 raised during October’s Ingles Down Home Concert Series event. The Barn donated $6,000 overall to Buncombe County Schools and $2,000 to Barnardsville Elementary School. FRC Director Shannon Boyd said the $4,000 donation, in the form of Ingles gift cards, will supplement the FRC’s partnership with MANNA FoodBank and keep shelves stocked at the FRC food pantry.
“We’ve given out more than 20,000 pounds of food so far this school year,” she said. “There is a great need in this community, and we are so very thankful for this help.”
Eddie Harwood, owner of the Barn, thanked the community for helping him raise more than $160,000 over three years of fundraising concerts.
“Whenever possible, we utilize The Barn at Paint Fork as a fundraising vehicle to accomplish some amazing things,” he said in a
Facebook post. “Over the years, our efforts have focused on needs in our community such as crisis relief, families with tragic losses, school supplies for children, holiday gifts for forgotten teens, and after-school meals for children who otherwise would have gone home hungry, and many other causes. … If not for you, helping our community’s children in need is quite often impossible. Thank you for making this event a huge success!”
